What the simulator is — and is not.

Equity and gold. V1 uses a monthly development dataset shaped to historical market regimes. It is intentionally labelled as demo data. The production adapter is designed to accept approved/licensed Nifty 50 TRI, Nifty Midcap 150 TRI and Indian gold benchmark histories without changing the simulation engine.

Fixed deposit. Every FD contribution is a separate 36-month lot. Its rate is locked at opening, compounds at the quarterly-equivalent rate, and automatically rolls at maturity using the rate then in force. Locked FD value is not treated as freely rebalanceable.

All Possible Lives. The selected strategy is replayed from every eligible monthly start date of the same duration. This avoids pretending that thousands of near-identical trading-day starts are independent evidence.

Comparability. Headline figures are benchmark-level, pre-tax and before implementation costs. Inflation is used only to express purchasing power, not as an investable asset.

Why this is different

It models the journey, not only the destination.

Most calculators answer “what did ₹10 lakh become?” This one also asks how deep the fall was, how long recovery took, how much timing mattered, what diversification actually changed, and what the same money would have experienced in alternate historical lives.

The goal is to surface evidence a user can learn from, rather than decorate familiar advice with charts.
